Dummy Knobs I searched cyberspace high and low and finally found the dummy knobs I was looking for! And with a couple clicks later and of course my credit card...it was done! It seemed that I had hardly logged off the computor and the doorbell rang...IT WAS THE ORDER I HAD PLACED...acutually took one day but I must say was the fastest I have ever received anything ordered online. How do dummy knobs attach? I need a closet door dummy with knob on both sides of the door but no latch mechanism. The door has a hole where the previous owners used a standard door knob and made it non functioning. Do I have to cover the hole and make sure I can attach something?

A. The Weslock 1705J Julienne single dummy door knob would just fine over the existing hole as long as it is large enough to cover the existing hole.

What is the difference between a passage door knob and a dummy door knob?

A. A passage door knob include the latch. It goes through the bore hole and actually turns to detract the latch. They are commonly used on closets or bedroom doors that you want to remain unlocked, such as a child door. The dummy knob does not include a latch. It is surface mounted on the door. It will not turn or have a function. They are commonly used on pantry doors or closets.
