Weslock Impressa Keyed Entry Knobset with Premiere Rosettes

Key locks and unlocks from the exterior and a push-button locks the knobset from the interior. Panic Proof feature means the knobset will unlock from the interior by simply turning the knob rather then pushing the interior push-button.

Great look I purchased these because our house is 150+ I wanted something up dated yet oldstyle. These are purfect. The only downside is you have to get used to them, when you open the door not to lock youself out, since it's a push lock. But I love the look. July 25, 2009

What are the dimensions of the plate behind the knob?

A. The backplate's height is 5", with a width of 2-1/4". The projection of the backplate without the knob is 3/8", and is 2-1/2" with the knob attached. I hope this helps

I need five knobs for doors that go from the livingroom to the garden. However I am not sure if this doors will remain unlocked unless I use the key to lock them. I need them to be easy to open for the kids like the ones that have a button to leave them unlocked. Is this doorknob easy to use or will lock automatically if I close the door from the outside?

A. The Weslock 1740I is a keyed entry knob set with a panic proof function. This means you can lock and unlock the door from the exterior with a key, and that the interior knob is always free (i.e. will unlock the door when turned). The door will not lock automatically on closing; it will only lock through use of a key on the exterior or the push button on the interior.
