Would NOT buy again Looks good but is not a quality door knob. Passage knob came off in hand. Keyed knob is coming apart where you put the key in to unlock. Have tried to repair by taking off knob and tightening te screw inside. Not worth the frustration. Knobs less than 6 months old. March 20, 2010

Glad I Purchased I loved the product. Need more instructions for novices like me for installation. Did not know I could take knob off of handleset to make screwing the screws in easier. Love the color, I am female and found handleset easy to install, for replacing old handleset. On difficulty scale from 1-5; 5 being most difficult, I'd say this is about a 1-2. November 5, 2008

Fine product I'm very happy with these locksets. I ordered four and had them all keyed alike, for which I wasn't charged extra. The locksets are fine quality and easy to install. I used drive-in bolts that made installation even easier. I wanted something that looked old fashioned and out of the ordinary and the escutcheon and oval knobs on these units filled that purpose. They're black with just the tiniest of copper colored reveal and go well with the rustic theme of my house. I'm including a photo of one temporarily installed on an unpainted door. October 30, 2007

I am looking to purchase more door knobs that are keyed and I am not sure where I locate the code on them to have the next order keyed the same...the keys do not have a number on them.

A. If you do not know your code, take it to any local place that cuts keys and ask them to guage your key. This will tell you the code, which you can then provide to us and we will key your new order to match.

What is the measurement of the backplate?

A. The Weslock 1740J has a plate that measures 5" tall by 2-5/8" wide.

can I key a weslock the same as a schlage

A. Thank you for your question, they can be keyed alike if you have the key code you need.

I really like the look of the oil rubbed bronze but it appears to have a heavy "bronze" tone on the edges of the plate. Is this the case or is it darker like the knob?

A. Oil rubbed bronze finishes tend to be pretty dark, almost black, but there is still bronze in it and sometimes certain lighting can bring that out. In this case, I would say it's the lighting in the picture, and not the finish itself.
