I am replacing an old Weslock handleset that I measured at 5" center to center spacing on the bore holes. I get the same 5" when I measure at the latch plate between deadbolt and door latch. Did the standard spacing change over the last 13 years or am I missing something? Will this handleset fit or should I replace with a separate deadbolt/handle set such as the Baldwin 85315? Thanks, Richard Aycock
A. 5 1/2 inch centers are the industry standard now. The 6641 also has 5.5 inch centers, so if you measured 5 inches, then that is not going to work for you. The Baldwin minimum measurement is 4 3/8 inches, so anything greater than that (i.e. 5) will work.
